I didn't paint so frequently as I was developing an interest in textiles.

claire.orme: Truro,, Cornwall, United Kingdom; My interest in Art began when I was a child. I drew prolifically and enjoyed all creative hobbies. At 14 years old I had oil painting lessons. I took my Art A-level and went to teacher training college and pursued art as my main subject. This was extended during my B.Ed (Hons) degree. Art and creativity was useful when I started teaching and I enjoyed running an art class at the end of the day. Between having a family and working at the Pre-School I managed to attended figure drawing, acrylic, wood carving, stained glass, clay lessons and private lessons with a potter to learn how to throw clay using a wheel. I started painting regularly while caring for my ill husband and this gave me a renewed interest in art. I again painted prolifically both by night and day! Two years ago I revisited stained glass work and taught myself book illustrating. Then I rediscovered textiles and started an A-level course and an NCFE in Textiles with Business Studies. Combining painting, batik and embellishing feels like a new artistic experience....but I have other ideas waiting to create.
